Duedec I saw you on another thread and was going to ask how you were. Good to have you back and look forward to hearing about your half iron man. which one is it?

Welcome always happy, c25k is a great place to start. Im hoping to do NYC marathon in 2014 but it wont be at that speed.

Jodes hope you recover quickly sad.gif .

D&s more crazy than impressive wink.gif . I have another easy week then a marginaly harder week including a 32k run, then ease into the mara. My coach is working on my base fitness being strong enough from the first block that this block is race and recovery.

I have an appointment with a nutritionist from The Running Centre next week which will hopefully give me a good balance, carb load prep and race day nutrition.

Easy running this weekend, cold and 4yr old birthday party to organise.

Hi girls - well, my grandmother passed away this week. I've been home (to the country) for the week to attend the funeral etc. Not a great week in any way TBH.

I did a 7.5k run yesterday (1st one since Mothers Day). I am still going to do the 1/2 next Sunday as until this week i believe my training has been good enough that 6 days with NO training 2 weeks out shouldn't make a difference to me making the distance. I could be delusional though, but hey, still going to give it a go!

Hope everyones running is going well.

On the plan thing, as long as i know week to week when i'm going to fit in my runs, i really don't need a "plan" as such. I find the feeling after a run is enough to go next time??!! I enter in fun runs because the "high" feeling of achievement at the end is so magnified original.gif I just don't have high motivation levels to do anything in particular, as long as i'm out there. Hence why i stumbled and found myself registered for a 1/2 marathon shrug.gif

Am beyond tired, as i only arrived home today, so will read up and be more personal next time, sorry.

Oh and welcome to anyone newer than me original.gif

Goodluck for the 1/2 usand3. Sorry for your loss.

Loubee- can you share the nutritionist advice? Sounds interesting.

Always happy- DandS and I did c25k at the same time last year, and now we both are addicted! It is amazing what you can do if you put effort in.

Duedec- 5.30 is nighttime! How many kids do you have?

My kids had a sleepover at my parents last night so DH and I ran together for the second time ever. We did a bit over 10k in 1.02. I slowed him down terribly but he said he didn't mind.

4 runs on my training plan this week. Bootcamp tomorrow, so I will start with an easy 5k on Tuesday. DH's birthday. He is getting two pairs of running shoes and a new running top! He already got a nespresso machine, so he is spoilt!

Hi EB runners, i posted here quite awhile back but have been rather absent!

Im just wondering, for the ladies that have had babies, how soon after having your bubs did you start running again? And how did you gradually build back into it?

I am 31 weeks now and ran up until i was about 28 weeks. It got too painful. Im now doing cycle class and x trainer/stationary bike at the gym to keep fit, but already missing the running and looking forward to getting back into it post baby. I have just heard differing info about how long you should wait before running again so as not to damage pelvic floor, let your body recover etc.

Would love to hear of what worked for everyone. Thanks!

loubee - definitely impressive (not crazy!).

usand3 - sorry to hear about your grandmother. So the half is this coming Sunday? Im sure you will go fine with your training so far. Good luck!

Lexilotti - would have been nice to run with your DH, sounds like a good run. Has he always been a runner, or has he started recently like you? Sounds like your DH is going to do very well for his birthday original.gif

Pebbles2424 - I am not much help as I started running nearly 2 years after my 3rd baby, but I did still exercise fairly quickly after each baby. I was advised by a physio to just listen to my body as to when Id be ready. I think I was cycling within a few weeks each time. I am not sure how this translates to running though.

Rest day today, feel so lazy! Did 12km yesterday and will probably do a shortish run tomorrow.
