If so, how long after your D & C was it prescribed? Did you see your GP or get a referral to an OB?

I bled for 4 weeks, had a D & C, now on week 5 and no period. OB said 4 - 6 weeks is normal. I've always had a 25 - 26 day cycle and DS and last baby were conceived first cycle each.

I know I'm getting ahead of myself but just want to know what the next step is if period doesn't return soon?


Edited: just reread it and doesn't make sense. Bled for 2 weeks before miscarriage was diagnosed and 2 weeks after. Then had D & C, now it's been 5 weeks since D & C and no period yet.

I have had 3 miscarriages and my period returned at various times.

My OB told me that my period will return when my body has recovered from the miscarriage. It took 12 weeks for it to return after my 2nd one, which was the longest it took out of the 3.

Hang in there and relax it will return.

Thanks, it just seems like so long! I fell pregnant in October and it's been 3 months and I really want to start trying again. OB said we should wait one cycle before we try again. DS is already almost 2.5 years old and I don't want to have a massive age gap!

Im so sorry to hear about your MC.

In my case my period returned as normal, and I took clomid the 2nd cycle after the D&C. This was not to normalise my cycle however, but to conceive. Unfortunately the only thing is time and patience. I know it's hard because the only thing that makes you feel better is TTC again. Are you temping? That would help indicate a bit more about what your cycle is doing (vag is much more accurate).

ETA I left my sig in to show you that I got pregnant 2 cycles after D&C - many say you are fertile after one. I hope you are too!!

My specialist prescribed clomid after 2 miscarriages. My period returned a month after but the blood tests showed no ovulation for two months in a row. He prescribed 3 mths of clomid but we fell pregnant with DD1 on the first month. Not sure if this is routine.? We were seeing a specialist due to the miscarriages. I'm sorry ou are going though this. I hope you are holding up ok.
