As the title says - what was the size of each of your babies.

My first son was 4kg and 58.5cms - he never 'felt' big and wasnt expected to be big just a nice 'surprise'.

Im more than beyond scared of this one sad.gif I have a growth scan on thursday at 34weeks but knowing how inaccurate they are im not holding my breath with it.
This baby 'feels' to me so much bigger, the kicks hurt more, im feeling him in my ribs - never did once with my first.

So how does the myth go on here - should i expect a bigger one.

( some more info - both pregnancies fundal is spot on so no sign there, no diabetes in either pregnancy. This pregnancy everyone is commenting im small which i am im no where near as front out as i was with my first but i do have about 15kg of weight still on from the first )

Thanks !
howdo
#1 11lb
#2 10lb
#3 9lb

No, they do not always 'get bigger'. I was always bang on with fundal height and the smallest baby was my medicated (worst) GD pregnancy.
Angelina Ballerina
My second was smaller.
DS was 3.55kg (10 days late)
DD was 3.12kg (40 weeks)

They were the same length.

DD2 - 8lb4oz - 7 days late

So for me, yes they get BIGGER!

thanks for the replies so far - its reassuring original.gif

howdo
Nope LOL my first two were 3 and 4 days early and my smallest adn third was a week late biggrin.gif
vääräsääri
Both of mine were almost identical in size - but the first one was born 2 weeks earlier than the second, so technically, had he gone full term, he would've been bigger.

Is your placenta in the same spot as with the first? Mine were different, and there was a noticeable difference in where and how much I felt the kicks. Not so much a size thing necessarily.
mummyofour
1st baby 3 days early 6lb11oz

2nd baby week overdue 8lbs12oz

3rd baby week early 8lbs 2oz

4th baby week earkly 8lbs 10oz

so it appears I have bigger girls than boys (although only had one boy so can't confirm that theory !!)

DD1 7lb 12oz
DS1 7lb 1 oz (smaller)
DS2 7lb 14 oz
DD2 tiny &
DS3 9lb.

#5 was est 7lb 14oz at 36 weeks. I did the GD diet as a precaution (not taking the test), I lost 5kg and his growth did slow from the massive rate it was but the u/s doc did say he had the fattest tummy of any baby he'd seen in utero lol.
Without the GD diet (whether or not I did have GD, he was still getting a little less sugar anyway) he would have been well over 9lb.

All the others had head circ of 32-35. #5 head was 37.5

so no, mine didn't get bigger as #2 was smaller, but after that for my term babies they did get bigger original.gif
so yes and no from me original.gif

3.7 kg (boy, GD, 39 weeks)
4.4 kg (girl, no GD, 39 weeks)

So my last one was my smallest (by 20 g )

I*Love*Christmas
DS 8lb12oz (3.96kg) 51.5cm 40+2
DD 8lb 14oz (4.02kg) 52cm 40+9

I would say that if DD had come earlier, around the same gestation that DS was born at, they would have been very close in size.

DD1- 5lb2oz 43cm born at 39 weeks.

Same for me. Second bub bigger, but felt much less movement due to anterior placenta.

#1: 4.3kg and 54cm at 39+3. I had no idea she would be big.
#2: 3.3kg and 50cm at 39+2. Got the shock of my life he was so much smaller.
#3: 3.7kg and 53cm at 38+4.

In my case my first was my biggest, however, had my fourth gone full term she probably would have been yje biggest.

#1- 6lbs 15 oz (38 weeks)
#2 6lbs 10 oz (38 + 5 weeks)
#3 6lbs 13 oz (38 + 2 weeks)
#4 5lbs 10 oz (35 weeks)

So far this one is looking small (20th percentile) and is scheduled to be born at 39 weeks (doubtful I'll go that far).

Mine go bigger:

DD1 3.8kg, 52cm

DD2 - 3.9kg, 51cm

DS - 4.4kg, 55cm (and he was 5 days before his due date, the girls were 1 to 2 days after).

I do wonder how much bigger DS2 and DS3 would have got if they were born 2 weeks later like DS1.

DD was 8lbs 7ozs very tall girl Ill have to go look that one up
DS1 9lbs 4 ozs 58cms long
DS2 7lbs 7ozs born at 34 weeks so I would think he would of been huge if he stayed in as long as he was supposed to.
Justine Case
My second was smaller. Both born at 38 weeks, DD1 was 2.9kg and DD2 was 2.5kg.

All the best. original.gif

My OB said to add 200g for each new baby, and 200g more for a boy.

mine were

dd1 - 3005g (on time)
ds1 - 2905 (10 days early)
dd2 - 3375 (10 days late)

so his rule pretty much works for mine.

My first DS was: 3.6kgs 51cm long 39+5 weeks
second DS was: 3.580kgs 51cm long 39+4 weeks

So almost the exact same for both babies but they carried very differently. For the first pregnancy he kicked a lot under the ribs and towards the back, and I later found out that he was posterior so that explained why I had so much lower back pain and such a painful, long labour.

The second my belly was much bigger than the first one and the baby was all in the front. There were several doctors who told me that he was going to be huge baby and would be much bigger than the first. But it turned out that the second baby was almost the exact same size as the first one so the doctors really don't know everything. Every doctor told me something different. And the labour was a lot easier and quicker for the second baby.
