Hi all,

I m/c'd naturally at 11 weeks in December. After bleeding for about 12 days my 1st AF arrived about 20 days after that and was definitely heavier than normal. I have just got my 2nd post mc AF and I have to say it is heavier and more painful than any AF I have had before. Even 2 naprogesic and 2 panadol at the same time didn't help the pain.

Just wondering if anyone else had different AF after mc and if this means that there will be problems with conceiving? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Sorry for your loss

sometimes it can take your body a few months to get back to normal after a m/c and other times its back to normal immidiately. Every person & every m/c are different. Try not to worry too much. But if it continues, just go and see your Dr. They can check to see that your uterus is clear, & everything has passed.

Hi ausbokkie,

I am experiencing a simliar thing except in reverse i had my MC in oct and i used to be a regular 5 days good flow type of girl. Now there is a lot less blood and major cramping on day 1 and it only lasts for 3 days it's very odd. I had a blood test done and my thyroid is perfect etc but my hormones must be still screwy so i am seeing a chinese herbal medicine doctor and i am currently drinking the herbal concoctions and doing acupuncture to see if it will fix this. I wanted to try this first before going back to the doctor in 6 months. We are only starting to try TCC this month i wanted afew months off to get over the miscarriage. I think if your cycle isn't normal and regular that yes it could cause issues with conceiving in my case i know my uterus lining is no good so an egg wouldn't implant. Everyone is different though in your case i would go back to the doctor to ensure everything is ok....

Hmmm.... I have the same.

Used to be 26/28 day cycle with 3 days of very light flow.
Now I'm 29 days with 3 days of heavy + 2 days of light...

I have a fibroid which I do wonder if it is messing with things in there?
But I HATE the fact that my cycle has changed, it is like a monthly reminder that I once was pregnant.

I wouldn't mind if it had changed because I was now a mother... but this is like a punishment.
The worst bit is because it is now longer I get my hopes - which really should be over that kind of foolishness after 7 years TTC - up a little bit each time.

hi Ausbokkie,

so sorry for your loss sad.gif For support of what you're going through the girls here are fantastic TTC #1 after m/c

what you are experiencing sounds exactly like me. Although i had a mmc and d&c, i spotted for 3 days after, then got my 1st period back after 25 days. it was really crampy & heavy for 2 days, having to change every 4 hours, then went to normal flow on 3rd day & then stopped.

my cycle before was 28 days every month, almost to the hour! i had another period on 29th jan, which was also a 25 day cycle. normal flow, minimal cramps.

i've had ovulation signs this cycle. trying to have faith in my body again & hoping for a bfp in 7 days original.gif.

all the best
