Hello I need some help with trying to deal with the miscarriage of my twins a 14 weeks. I would like to know how long does it take to get back to normal. I was pregnant with twins and I went for my second ultrasound to find out that we were having twins but also to find out they had sadly past. we found that out on a friday I had to wait toll tuesday to have a d&c to get them out I had the normal bleeding for two weeks on and off and I also had cramping but that stoped. But its almost 1 month later and the cranping has returned I would like to know if this is normal. It comes when I do to much or when I have intercourse with my partner. Im worried on what it could be.

Oh OP, I'm so sorry for your loss. What a terrible thing to happen sad.gif I also had a D&C after a m/c at 18 weeks, and there was some "retained product" still left inside my uterus (ie: a small bit of placenta was left accidentally). This caused me huge amounts of cramping and bleeding. I went back to the maternity ward and had an ultrasound which confirmed there was still a bit in there. I was sent home and able to pass the tissue naturally (without medication to make my body do it). If my body hadn't cleared it, I would have had to have medication to force it, or otherwise another D&C. I got my period 35 days after the m/c and D&C. I usually have a 28 day cycle.
Perhaps your cramping is just AF or O cramping, perhaps it's something more. Do you have a temperature? Are you bleeding? Go to your Dr or the hospital if you need to check it out.
As for sex, our m/c has significantly effected our sex life and I've been chronically depressed since it happened almost 3 months ago. But I am getting better, and feel I'm "turning the corner" now with the grieving process. I guess it just takes everyone a different amount of time to get over this kind of trauma.
*hugs* to you, hon xoxox

thank you for helping me..im so sorry for your loss to it is hard at first but my partner and I are still getting there with what has happened we find it hard to talk about sometimes. And I dont have a temperature and my bleeding has stoped the cramping did to but it has come back im not sure if im getting my period or not or if im over doing it with house work but im going to my dr today to get it checked out because im not sure what it might be.
It could be what your saying it could also be that when they did my d&c they left some of the placenta behind. Also after I had my d&c I didnt have much bleeding at all it was more cramping then anything then they both went anyway now the cramping is back. so im goin to the doctor to get it checked out..my partner and I have been having sex but at first it was hard to do but now we can do it and we are okay its just now I get bad cramping when we have sex or when I do to much around the house
