Hi All,

looking for some hair product for DD. She has naturally curly/wavy hair, and the front bit is growing in a lot slower, so the back is longer, and looks a little unruly.

It is not thick enough to make a pony tail or 2, and I am concerned about putting the hair ties in as they are small and she tried to put some clips in her mouth before, with DH pulling them out before she choked on them.

So, was thinking a leave in condition would be the best to keep it a bit tidier. Was thinking as natural as possible so that if she does play with her hair and then her eyes or puts her hands in her mouth, it will be ok.

What do other for their kids hair?

The little tiny elastic hair ties are great for fine/thin/not much hair and basically impossible to pull out, have you tried those?

Like these. you can get them at Woolies and Coles.

We've been using a detangling spray/leave in conditioner for DD since she was about 21 months - it makes it much easier to brush and seems to make it a little bit heavier to it doesn't fly all over the place.
It's a bit longer now, so I can clip it & put it in a small ponytail

The stuff we got is called Organic Care Detangling conditioning spray. It's in a pink bottle with a fairly on the front.
It also smells like berries original.gif

My children have all had very fine baby hair that gets matted at the back when they sleep.
I use Gaia Baby Detangling Conditioner - a few sprays and it leaves the hair more conditioned and easy to brush. I just got it from the chemist I think.

My DS had almost afro style curls which required a lot of TLC.
The first thing I stopped was using all baby shampoos and conditioners as well as any J&J products including their detanglers. They are terrible for children's hair and J&J is rubbish.

I bought a good quality salon grade shampoo and conditioner. I suggest Di Lorenzo's sensitive shampoo and conditioner which is Laureth Sulfate free and organic. I also bought a Loreal leave in conditioner and tried Tigi curl shampoo and conditioner as a back up too. I even use salon grade on my babies hair as the baby shampoos leave her hair greasy and matted.

Regular hair cuts will help keep the ends healthy and manageable. If you're trying to grow the hair wash only twice-three times a week and avoid the hair getting wet between washes.

The organic care one is cheap BUT has no sls, parabens etc and isnt tested on animals original.gif you can get it at Coles and it works for my daughters knotty hair
