Fingers Crossed!!
Hi ladies

My AF arrived at the weekend aftr my first round of clomid and I think I got my hopes up too high that I was pregnant and that the first round was going to be a miracle cure.

After a big bump back to the ground of reality, I am now starting my second round of clomid and looking for some inspiration from those ladies that have been through this process.

Last cycle I had the trigger shot and had two follicles released but my lining was on the thin side and I was fairly 'dry' with no EWCM to report. Am worried this will continue the more clomid I take and my fs is seeming to suggest that no more than 3 cycles is required before moving onto IVF which scares the heeby jeebys out of me!!

For some background I am 32, been married for nearly a year and trying to since December - I know this is not long but I was diagnosed with PCOS because of my irregular if not absent periods hence the need for clomid and fs assistance!

Any success/positive stories with clomid would be soooooo appreciated right now!

Thanks heaps xx

Hi OP,

I havent used clomid, i had to use IVF using ICSI etc to concieve, but it takes time, waiting, so just take each cycle as it comes and hopefully you will get your BFP soon.

As for IVF, that is a whole other ball game, so much waiting, blood tests, other tests, scans etc, its no miracle cure and patients is required, from our First FS appointment it took us 18months to get our first sticky BFP. Just try keep busy and dont read to much on EB.

I believe there is a clomid BG so maybe pop in there too.

Good luck.

Good on you for getting moving with things OP - I've stuffed around TTC for over two years now and wished i'd got the ball rolling with assistance earlier.

Re the Clomid - I did three rounds early last year and left if at that. I think after three your chances of conception reduce considerably so what your FS said to you sounds right, mine said the same. I'm doing my first round of IVF from August, I feel I have exhausted trying everything now so feel very ready for the next step.

I really hope the Clomid does work, and it does for alot of people, if not it might be best to move forward as your FS suggested.

All the very best...

My friend had irregular periods and wasn't ovulating each cycle. She fell pregnant on her second clomid cycle with her beautiful boy.

Clomid didn't work for me, but we also have problems with male factor infertility, so it was always a slim chance.
There are possibly other medications you could try for PCOS before you go to IVF. But in any case, you should always be prepared to try for at least 12 months, whatever methods and medications you choose. Not all your eggs will be good enough quality to fertilise even if you do ovulate. Some of those that do fertilise will have genetic anomalies and won't implant etc. etc. Getting pregnant takes time, 7 months on average for a totally fertile couple, and usually a bit longer for those of us with issues. Patience is the key, but it's hard, I know.
Good luck!

I did 6 failed cycles of clomid, 4 of those monitored after a missed miscarriage and then PCOS diagnosis. I have since done 2 Fresh & 2 FET cycles of IVF, all failed and also 2 cycles of Femara....I would not do more than 3 rounds of clomid if my FS offered it. It was a waste of time and money for those rounds and we have had better chances with IVF even though none of those have worked.

It takes time, perserverance and just the fact you need to hang in there. Yes there are success stories of first go Clomid, or first go IVF, then there are others who like me try and try again.

As for the clomid side effects and no EWCM, we used pre-seed when we were doing our clomid cycles and it was pretty good.
