Is there anywhere/anyone I can complain to about the number of puppies and kittens being advertised for sale on my local swap, sell, buy and giveaway page? It feels like every third post is a bark yard crossbreed for sale.

I wish I knew the answer.

I always link the oscars law website under any mention of BYb dogs for sale on facebook.

Report it on fb, I'm sure it's not allowed. Our page always has notices about no pets allowed to be sold, and any that are put up are quickly deleted.

I'm a member of three Tasmanian ones and there are so so many giveaway or cheap dogs and cats. It's sad really sad.gif

It's also sad when someone with numerous mixed breed girl dogs, keeps posting 'wanted' ads for a stud dog of any breed to put over her three girl dogs!!!!!
*Spikey*
I wish there was.

I suspect there will be in NSW if enough people demand regulation of the sale of animals.

And if NSW does it, I expect other state will follow.
WhatWouldBuffyDo
It's horrible.
I saw a post on one of the buy swap and sells, "free to good home kittens". It basically said 10 kittens free to good home because it was the "breeder's" first try and first litter from each mother cat. Not chipped, immunised or desexed. She said the next litter she'd charge for because she now knew which mother cat produced the cutest, most popular kittens.

I nearly cried mad.gif

God lucky that wasn't me or I would have 15 cats right now... I would have taken them and then seen if I could get a rescue org to desex them and adopt them out.

I'm hoping to eventually wear DF down and let me rescue cats hehehe
