We've all been spending a lot of time at home this year , so it's no surprise there's been a dramatic surge in Aussies wanting to adopt a new pet.
In fact, there were a whopping 6.2 million Google searches in the first half of the year surrounding 'dog adoption' and 'getting a new dog'.
One of the most important decisions you'll make as the proud owner of a new pooch, is what to name your four-legged friend. And just like naming a baby, you can find inspiration everywhere.
A new study from Hill's Pet Nutrition Australia has revealed the top 10 trending dog names for 2020 - plus the most popular breeds.
The most popular name for pups is Kobe, an ode to Kobe Bryant who sadly passed away earlier this year - followed by Dixie and Walter.
Our fur-babies play a pretty important part in our lives, with data from the study showing that there's more of a crossover with baby and dog names than you may have thought.
About 30 per cent of the top 25 dog trending names are also popular human names, including Hunter(#6) and Daisy (#15).
People also found inspiration from TV shows and movies, such as Elsa (#8) from Frozen, Shelby (#10) as featured in Peaky Blinders and one for the Star Wars fans - Princess Leia coming in at number 12.
Check out the list below to see if your favourite dog breed or name made the list!
