Younger sister, Abby, used her birthday money to surprise her older brother with a pet hamster and his reaction is priceless.
A video showing the moment Daniel Stout's little sister gave him a new pet was posted on Facebook and has since been shared over 49,000 times.
"They've always been really close," Stout told TODAY. "By the time Abby came along, Daniel was just so thrilled to have her. He's just always been all about her and she's been all about him."
The video shows Daniel embracing his sister in a hug and they both start crying.
At one point Abby asks her brother: "Why are you crying?"
"Are you happy crying?"
Stout explains on Facebook that after Abby received a hamster for her birthday, Daniel has been working so hard "doing extra chores and going above and beyond to earn money to buy one".
"We added up Abigail's birthday money and gift cards and she had $55 total. I asked her what she wanted to do with her money and she says, 'I want to surprise Daniel and buy him his hamster,'" Stout said.
The mother of two said she asked her daughter several times if she was sure she wanted to spend her money on a hamster, "and she never faltered."
While Daniel was sleeping over at a friend's house, Stout took Abby to the pet store to pick Daniel's hamster.
"We got it home, set it up and she couldn't wait for him to get home from his sleep over so he could be surprised and meet and name his hamster," said Stout.
Rachel said her son's reaction wasn't surprising.
"He's got the biggest heart. He's such a lover, and he has no problem showing his emotion," she said.
Daniel managed to save $21 towards his pet, and now plans to continue saving and use the money to buy his sister an American Girl doll for her birthday next year.
"I told him, 'Do you know how much money those cost?'" Stout said. "But he'll probably have to save a while for that one."
