A new interactive game hit our shelves yesterday and if you are a fan of the many colourful Disney and Pixar characters you will be just as excited as us to get your hands on one.
It is called Disney Infinity and it allows children (and the rest of us big kids) to delve into the worlds of some of the most popular Disney and Pixar movies to create their own. The possibilities are infinite, as is the fun.
Throughout each story-driven experience, called a ‘Play Set’, players can place physical toy versions of their favourite Disney and Disney Pixar characters onto the Infinity Base, a device that transports players to a virtual world where they can interact with the best of Disney on one platform. The first of the Play Sets available include characters from Monsters University, Cars, The Incredibles, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Lone Ranger.
Once transported into these virtual worlds, children are faced with challenging puzzles to solve, enemies to battle, and iconic locations to explore from the films. Their goal is to unlock characters, vehicles, upgrades and gadgets to add to their virtual ‘Toy Box’ in order to continue to create their own unique gaming world by combining characters, environments and items. They are also able to share this world with their family and friends both online and off.
The game is available to buy for Wii and Wii-U, Xbox 360, PS3, 3DS, and PC. The Disney Infinity starter pack (pictured below) includes three Play Sets, three character figurines, the Disney Infinity Base, a Disney Infinity Power Disc, unique web codes to unlock online content and the game disc for $89.95. Additional Play Sets, characters and power discs are available separately.
We predict this will be on many a wish list for Christmas this year.
