Brad Pitt admits he gives Coca Cola to his kids for breakfast some days to get them up in the morning.
All parents have mornings when they struggle to get their kids out of bed and when you travel the world as much as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie it seems you need to resort to the promise of coke instead of the threat of cold water on their face.
In an interview with CBS, Brad opens up about his latest film Moneyball, his kids and why marriage is still on the table.
When asked about his six children with partner Jolie, Pitt reveals he is overjoyed with fatherhood.
“I couldn’t imagine life without any of them,” he says, “There’s something that’s automatic that just happens”.
They know that mummy and daddy work in films and stories ... they see the Paparazzi and they think everyone has to deal with that. Four of mine aren’t bothered by it, two of them are, they just don’t like it”.
But jetting around the world does take its toll on the young family’s sleep routine.
“Listen, I admit there’s times like, ‘We gotta get up. Get up! Here’s your shoes. Here’s your shoes. Drink this coke. Drink this Coca Cola. Drink it all. Right now! Drink it! Drink it!’ Just so we could get ‘em up and going,” Pitt says.
While it might not be the most nutritious way to start the day the busy Jolie-Pitts seem to make their lifestyle work.
But not all the kids are well-adjusted to the media frenzy that comes with that lifestyle.
“They know that mummy and daddy work in films and stories,” says Pitt, they see the Paparazzi and “they think everyone has to deal with that. Four of mine aren’t bothered by it, two of them are, they just don’t like it”.
Pitt admits that he too has struggled with the media attention in the past but these days he has more of a positive attitude.
“Now I see it as something that can be used for good things,” he says.
After seven years together in the limelight the ‘Brangelina’ duo are good at dealing with the attention surrounding their relationship but when it comes to marriage it seems the media aren’t the only ones putting the pressure on the Hollywood power couple to tie the knot.
“We’re getting a lot of pressure from the kids ... it means something to them,” he says.
How does Pitt respond to their children’s demands?
“We will someday, we will,” he says reassuringly, “That’s a great idea. Get mummy a ring. Ok I will. I will.”
