Barbie's Malibu Dreamhouse is available to rent on Airbnb

Barbie is set to throw open the doors to her Malibu Dreamhouse for the first time in history.

The iconic home is listed on Airbnb to commemorate the Barbie brand's 60 birthday - and is available for one weekend only.

"With panoramic ocean views and beachy, glamorous decor, the home is a larger-than-life recreation of Barbie's signature style and hospitality," Airbnb said in a statement.

The two-night stay is available for only $60 a night (plus taxes and fees) from October 27 - October 29.

"My Dreamhouse is the perfect place to be inspired and learn new things," Barbie says. "I hope it will feel like your Dreamhouse, too."

But while the woman herself won't be in town, she's rounded up some of her friends to take care of the lucky guests.

"Learn how to fence with Ibtihaj Muhammad, create an exquisite meal in my fully stocked kitchen with chef Gina Clarke-Helm, get a makeover with hairstylists from Mane Addicts Creator Collective while meeting with celebrity hairstylist and girl boss Jen Atkin, and even take a trip to the Columbia Memorial Space Center with pilot and aerospace engineer Jill Meyers," Barbie says. "I hope the stay is a reminder that you can be anything!"

The house boasts three floors with ocean views, as well as a pool. "I never travel without my waterslide, so I'll be taking that with me," Barbie says, adding, "whether you're enjoying an outdoor meal, watching a movie in my personal cinema, or making s'mores under the stars, the best part is just being together."

As part of the deal, Airbnb will make a donation to one of the charities involved in the Barbie Dream Gap project. The term 'Dream Gap' comes from research, published in the journal Science, which found that at around the age of five many girls are less likely to view their own gender as smart, and begin to lose confidence in their own competence.

To help close it, Barbie launched the Dream Gap Project in 2018, an ongoing global initiative giving girls the resources and support they need "to continue believing in themselves."
