Celebrity parents are an ongoing source of fascination. Despite having millions of dollars, mansions and cars worth more than our homes, there are some who still manage to keep it real.

Kids are the ultimate humbling devices, no matter who you are, how many countries your movies are shown in, and no matter how many arenas you fill.

Aside from the royals, who are bound by considerable protocol, there are a few celebrities who don't mind sharing the real aspects of their parenting lives with us and we absolutely love them for being so relatable. Far from relentlessly glossy portrayals of their family lives, they show that they really are just like the rest of us.

These are the celebrity parents we all loved in 2018.

1. The Royals

With a royal birth (Prince Louis), a royal wedding (Prince Harry and Meghan Markle) and a royal pregnancy, 2018 delivered a royal trifecta of happy news. That's not even counting the weddings and babies of royals who sit further down the ranks from the throne and their wider families, who also attract avid royal watchers, such as Princess Eugenie and Pippa Middleton.

Bookies have also raked in relative fortunes from people punting on royal baby names this year, with the frenzy to continue into 2019.

There is no denying that the British royal family are the most watched and coveted celebrity parents of all.

2. Elsa Pataky and Chris Hemsworth

From Elsa being upfront about what it was like to have a first baby with Chris, to Chris' 'dorky dad' antics and confessing how kids have affected his career, our audiences could not get enough of this celebrity couple.

They were consistently ranked among your favourite celebrities in 2018 with their relatable, down-to-earth style.

3. Pink and Carey Hart

It's been a massive year for Pink and her family, husband Carey Hart, daughter Willow Sage and son Jameson Moon.

From a world concert tour punctuated with a devastating bout of gastro on the Australian leg, to being cover stars on People magazine's 'Beautiful issue,' there's a lot of love for this relatable family who do all the same things we do, with a little star power to boot.

They haven't been free of parent-shaming either, with Carey criticised for taking out an infectious child, and feeding his kids at a local bar and some comments about Willow's brightly-dyed hair. For the most part though, you love this family, especially when Pink shares her advice on men.

4. Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen manages to traverse that impossible line between completely glamorous and totally relatable, especially since she gave birth to daughter Luna in 2016 and earlier this year in May, son Miles.

We have been right there with her along the way as she and husband musician John Legend, journeyed through the IVF, pregnancy, post-natal depression and parenting life and loving her for her sometimes-witty, sometimes-sombre take on it all coupled with absolute honesty.
