Popular mummy blogger Sophie Cachia has shared a photo of her new tattoo, revealing it commemorates the 'most challenging year of her life.'
"What a bloody 12 months," the Melbourne based blogger began the post.
"By far, the most challenging of my life. Completely losing myself and my self-worth," she continued. "It's nice to finally breathe again."
Cachia shared a photo of the tattoo, which shows a tiny butterfly on her pinkie finger, accompanying it with a message detailing why she chose it.
"Here to all things new and new beginnings," the note in the picture read. "Did you know a butterfly represents many things but mainly our souls and their symbolism of transformation and rebirth."
"They are beautiful too. I know you're going to love this next part."
The post comes a year after Cachia announced her and her husband, AFL-player Jaryd Cachia, were separating after eight years together. Although the blogger assured fans that there was 'no animosity or hatred' in the separation.
"Whilst it hasn't always been easy navigating through co-parenting under the same roof this year [which has included family holidays, continual support of personal careers and no changes to our social setting], we truly appreciate how lucky we are to have each other," she wrote in a post at the time.
Sophie and Jaryd share two children, son Bobby, six, and daughter Florence, two. She became a popular mummy-blogger after giving birth to her son at 22.
Instagram users loved the post and the sweet message behind it.
"I recently just got a butterfly tattoo too for the same reasoning," one woman shared.
"You are strong, beautiful, talented, funny, inspiring and quite frankly the bomb," another woman commented. "May these challenge and hurdles be the valleys you look back on in life as the times that defined you, gave you strength, made you grow and polished you to become the gem you are."
"Don't ever doubt yourself," the woman concluded. "Your reason for being here or the awesomeness you give to this world."
