Tori Spelling has opened up about her eldest daughter's confidence struggles, saying school bullies had 'dimmed' her fire and caused her to have panic attacks.

The Beverly Hills 90210 actress turned reality star penned a heartfelt post to Stella, 13, as she shared photos of her first modelling gig as a teenager.

Appearing in a back to school campaign for youth beauty brand Petite 'n Pretty, Stella looked happy and self-assured.

But as Spelling, 48, explained, it marked a big moment for Stella, whose bullies had shattered her sense of self in a revealing Instagram post, captioned 'How Stella got her groove back'.

"Her bullying started in 5th grade in Encino. Sadly, the boy that bullied her and other girls and boys wasn't stopped," she said, accusing the school of siding with his parents due to their monetary donations.

"With Stella's bullying came health issues. She developed headaches, stomachaches, panic attacks and her asthma increased. Emotions can be pretty powerful and manifest into physical ailments. She missed a lot of school due to this," she continued.

Spelling also explained that as she had missed so much school, her school had given the family an ultimatum - if she wanted to take part in MasterChef she would have to miss graduating with her peers, which Spelling said she reluctantly agreed to.

"Well, Stella WON!! I had never seen her confidence like I did that day! Her [fire] was back. That's the lesson we should be teaching! To encourage our kids to find their individual passions and thrive!," she said, elaborating that the recent modelling gig had further fuelled her confidence.

"...thx to @petitenpretty Stella got her powerful and fulfilling 'school' moment! Her confidence now soaring! Your fire is back. You are a fierce female. So proud of U Buggy!"

Spelling, who also shares Liam, 14, Hattie, nine, Finn, eight and Beau, four, with husband Dean McDermott, has previously described Stella as 'fierce', 'supremely powerful' and a 'multi threat'.

However she's also shared that both Stella and Liam have been the targets of bullies, writing in an Instagram post they'd endured enough bullying 'for a lifetime', which continued even after they changed schools.

"This time, my daughter was bullied so bad (including comments about her weight and sexual things he said that my daughter didn't even know about.). This school did the right thing and expelled the boy but the damage had been done. She now associates her education with boys that have been so horrific to her," she wrote.

Adding that Liam had also experienced issues.

"He was bullied to the point that he developed severe emotional based headaches and stomach aches. This school (who did help with Stella's situation) did not help with Liam's. He continued to be bullied so bad we had to leave."
