We've been playing UNO all wrong

Well, folks, games night will never be the same again.

The people at UNO have just informed us that we've been playing the iconic card game incorrectly for our whole lives - and we (literally) can't deal right now.

According to the official UNO Twitter and Instagram account it's all down to the technicalities of the +4 card.

"If someone puts down a +4 card, you must draw 4 and your turn is skipped," they tweeted on Saturday. "You can't put down a +2 to make the next person Draw 6.

"We know you've tried it."

Wait, what?

As you can imagine, the Internet wasn't happy.

Some took the opportunity to clarify other rules:

While others simply suggested that the people at UNO ... don't know how to play UNO.

It's not the first time the Internet has flipped out over UNO rules. Last year, a Facebook post by La Toya McGaskill Stallings went viral after the UNO aficionado shared her own discovery.

"So it's taken me 35 years on this earth to realise that I've been playing UNO wrong since I was a kid," she wrote." "Did y'all know that you can only play the Draw 4 Wild card IF you have NO other cards that can be played??

But that's not all.

Ms McCaskill Stallings continued: "If you suspect that someone has illegally played this card, they have to show you their hand. AND if they in fact played the card illegally they must draw 4, but If not, the person who challenged the play must DRAW 6?"

So there you have it.

The more Y'UNO, eh?
