Choc-banana bites

Besides being a good source of vitamin C and energy-giving carbohydrates, bananas are a great easy-to-handle fruit for kids.

Ingredients

5 wooden iceblock (popsicle/ice lolly) sticks, cut in half
3 large bananas, peeled and cut into 3 pieces
125 g (4½ oz) dark cooking chocolate, chopped 

Method

1. Line a 33 × 28 cm (13 × 11¼ inch) baking tray with foil. Carefully push a half-stick into each piece of banana. Place on the prepared tray and freeze for 2 hours or until firm.

2. Put the chocolate in a small heatproof bowl. Stand the bowl over a saucepan of simmering water and stir until the chocolate has melted and is smooth.

4. hot chocolate mixture, turning to fully coat. Drain off any excess chocolate. Place the banana pieces on the prepared tray. Refrigerate until the chocolate has set, then wrap in plastic wrap and place in the freezer for at least 2 hours to harden. Serve frozen.
