Kebabs are a great way to encourage your child to eat a variety of fruit during the day. They are a beautifully refreshing addition to a summer lunchbox and very versatile as they can be made with almost any type of fruit.

Ingredients

  • 6 bamboo skewers (soaked for at least 1 hour)
  • 6 strawberries
  • 2 kiwifruit
  • 2 slices watermelon
  • 2 slices honeydew melon
  • 1 slice of rockmelon

Method

Cut the rounded ends off the kiwifruit and then cut each kiwifruit into three slices.

Lay the kiwifruit and slices of melons on a cutting board then use a 3cm cookie cutter to cut shapes.

Thread the shapes onto the skewers, using one piece of each fruit, then cut the sharp tip off the skewer and top with a strawberry.

You may need to include an icepack in the lunchbox to keep the fruit cool!
