Have your say
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 cups caster sugar
- ¾ cups cacao powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- 100 grams butter, melted
- 1 ½ cup water
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 175°C. Line a rectangular cake pan (or you can use a lasagne dish) with baking paper.
Add to the bowl of your food processor the caster sugar, cacao powder, baking powder and salt. Pulse to mix for about 10 seconds or so. Then add eggs, vanilla, water and butter to the food processor. Blend for about 20 seconds.
Next add the flour, pulse briefly and stop. Repeat this until the mixture is just smooth. The number of times will depend on your processor but it will be approximately 5 - 7 times. Pour the mixture out into the lined pan.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, using the skewer test to check if it is ready. Let the cake sit in the pan for 5- 10 minutes before cooling on a rack.
