Located in the Chelsea district in Manhattan’s West Side, Avenues has recently finished the first stages of its US$60 million development and opened its doors for children in nursery to ninth grade last month.
Suri is one of the first students to experience the start of ‘the next evolution of schooling’- global schools. The school urges its pupil’s parents to ‘think of Avenues as one international school with 20 or more campuses’. With plans to build more campuses around the world, including in China, India, Africa and Europe, with a shared curriculum and a common vision, Suri’s jet-setting lifestyle could easily be catered to by a simple school transfer.
Here are some other interesting facts about Avenues:

Instead of Scientology, Suri will be learning about the core ethical and moral values of don’t lie, don’t cheat and don’t steal. But surprisingly, the most important character trait the school wants their pupils to develop is ‘don’t be afraid’.
Health and fitness will be given special focus with ‘all students expected to develop a personal regimen of exercise by the time they graduate’. This should be easy for Suri considering the school will be building a 20,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art athletic and fitness centre, complete with locker rooms, weight and aerobic training spaces and a gymnasium on the ninth and tenth floor.
The annual tuition is approximately US$39,750 on top of a mandatory US$2,000 fee which covers Suri’s athletic uniform, snacks, lunch and annual investments in educational technology.

Parents are also guaranteed that their child will be speaking fluently in a second language upon graduation.
