Mum turns leftover boxes into incredible toy kitchen for her daughter

A mum from the Philippines turned a bunch of leftover boxes into an amazing play kitchen for her one-year-old daughter.

Sharing before and after pictures of her DIY project on Facebook, Rodessa Villanueva Reyes is now receiving requests from other parents to make something similar for their kids.

Speaking to Essential Kids, Rodessa said she is overwhelmed by all the comments "and appreciation from mums and dads all over the world."

"It wasn't intentional to make my DIY cardboard box kitchen [go] viral," she said. "All I wanted was to make a play kitchen for my daughter as she loves to pretend play as a chef."

"Now that it has gone this far, I want to inspire more mums or dads to make DIY toys for their kids."

According to Four Urban Women, the mum used vinyl stickers and white card to cover-up the boxes. The oven knobs are made from old jam jars and the sink is made from an empty soap bottle and an old baking pan.

Next, Rodessa plans to make something for her nephew.

"I'll be making a cardboard box workbench for my nephew," she said. "As I have received a lot of requests to make something for their little boys."
