How to throw a 'Despicable Me' party

Part of me is in complete disbelief that seven years have passed since I first cradled my little boy in my arms. On this birthday, while we ran around preparing cake stands, cutting out minions and making sure all the blue and yellow details were just perfect for him I stepped back to soak it all in. This birthday AJ has been a little different, I am starting to see glimpses of the person I hope he grows up to be; glimpses of maturity, confidence, independence and an all-knowing about things. Gosh I could write pages upon pages of wishes that I have for him on his birthday. Instead, I will write just one: always believe that anything is possible my little man, I am your biggest fan xx

The perfect Despicable Me Minion party was crafted and designed for AJ by his awesome Aunty who has such a generous heart. The cake table was the centre piece of the party with Gru and Lucy's wedding cake transformed into AJ's birthday cake; Gru's lab sherbet bombs, minion cupcakes, evil minion purple macaroons, minion beach water bottles, banana minion food and the fabulous giant minion head and Gru's logo redesigned into a giant A as the perfect backdrops.

The kids all got involved and excited over their personalised minion craft frames; so easy and simple to do - using $3 frames from Ikea, cut out minion features from felt and lots of crafty accessories to make each minion a piece of art.

Throw in a belly-laugh magic show that had both the adults and kids enthralled, and a minion-banana inspired photo booth and this party made all my little's man's birthday dreams come true. Such a party is just perfect for all little minion fans.
