It's every parent's worst nightmare.
Opening your child's school bag after two weeks of holidays, only to realise the contents of their lunch box had not been cleaned out before the break.
Now imagine if the lunch box had been left untouched for a jaw-dropping 14 months?
That's the experience of one horrified woman, who discovered that her younger brother's lunch box had not been emptied sine March 2020 - his last day of school pre-pandemic.
Rachel Stecia, 21, made the revelation on TikTok in a series of revolting, and now viral, videos.
"It's my brother's first in-person day back at school since March 13, 2020 and he never emptied his lunch box," she captioned the first clip.
"I'm terrified to open it. He said there might be a banana in there."
In a follow-up video, Rachel reveals that there was, unfortunately, a banana involved.
While her mum had thrown out the contents of the offending lunch box, she did take some photos of the rotting meal first.

The photos show an incredibly mouldy sandwich and a banana - which had turned completely black. Rachel captioned the clip: 'The banana - I can't'.
Users were understandably mortified.
"I can't even imagine the smell," said one.
"I was expecting maggots tbh", said another.
Many warned Rachel to get rid of it immediately.
"Don't even open it. I'm begging you."
"I would have thrown the entire thing away - lunch box included."
