Who have you kept afloat (fluffy)?

Which company/service have you single-handedly kept afloat?

Me? Darrell Lea. If you’re at all partial to liquorice, you really need to try the milk chocolate liquorice block - in addition to chunks of liquorice, it’s got these crispy aniseed chips. Though, I think I’m not the only one to have discovered it, as it’s becoming rather hard to find at my local Woolies.

My kids and I love the various DL blocks and licorice is my favourite, red licorice is a close second. The licorice (regular and red) is great. Tonight while DD was at swimming I had to get milk so grabbed red licorice bullets to try!

Then tonight on FB DL have a post that if you buy two blocks at Coles tomorrow and message them before midnight you could win a years supply. Kids and I reckon it’s probably a block a week and that’s not enough!

AGL - our power bill is 25% higher than last year. Thankfully I switched our hot water over to controlled loading so the bill was only $40 higher!

I have been supporting local small businesses during this period 😁

We have had takeaway quite regularly from many of our local restaurants.  Our kids really enjoyed the multi course degustation dinners while barefooted and in comfy clothes at home 😆  They’re quite disappointed with my regular meals now that restaurants are back to almost normal.

Oh yes, the white choc red liquorice bullets are pretty great too - probably lucky they don’t make it in block form!

Our local chocolate shop, Chocilo, T2, various yarn companies, the cheese industry and the champagne industry (both proper French and Australian sparkling, mostly Tasmanian at the moment). Industrial quantities I tell you.

All wineries within a 100km radius of me, lucky for me (but not my bank account) they are numerous and superb. Also my local coffee shop.

The dark chocolate one is even better in my opinion.

Local coffee roaster.  I actually cut down on coffee when the panic buying set in but over winter my DS hasn't been sleeping so Im back to 3-4 cups a day. I really need to cut down again for my healths sake 😢

There's this little bakery near us that DD (I mean me, seeing as I'm the one who pays for them) has probably kept in business solely on pizza scroll purchases.

Local cafe that has these adorable gingerbread biscuits in all sorts of shapes with a lovely lemon-y fondant type icing. They have dinosaurs and hearts and bunnies and butterflies and footballs etc.

We walk up to the shops every second or third day in these lockdown times and “have to” get a coffee and a biscuit. Such a pity the toddler can only get through half...

I think l cleaned out the Salvation Army of childrens books.

Spotlight. I normally buy a lot of fabrics from America but with the exchange rate so crap and lots of stuff being stuck at customs it isn't worth the hassle.

Guzem and Gomez are getting a lot of my money and of course, my local bottle shop.

PS - I don't like Darrell Lea chocolate, it tastes like compound to me.
